On Friday, May 17, 2024, Louis J. Mascaro, one of the owners of local solid waste company J. P. Mascaro & Sons, hosted at his Automotive Museum in Birdsboro, Pennsylvania, a very special and well-known celebrity, Jay Leno. Mr. Leno, a “world class” comedian and automotive expert, who was performing at the Reading Performing Arts Center, took time out of his busy schedule to tour the recently-completed Louis J. Mascaro Automotive Museum that houses more than 50 rare high-performance vehicles.
Lou and Jay exchanged many interesting comments while touring the museum, with Robert Venditti, Jr. and John Puccella, who care for the cars, with Steve Lusky, a local community participant who drove Mr. Leno, and with Lou’s brother Pat Mascaro and Pat’s wife, Susan.
Talking about Leno’s visit, Pat Mascaro said, “I knew Jay Leno was ‘special’ as it relates to comedy and cars, but what impressed me the most is that he is clearly a ‘salt of the earth’ type of person. He is truly a genuine and nice person.” Pat added, “It was great to see Jay and Lou go back and forth on the intricacies of collectible cars and their respective automobile collections. This was a once-in-a-lifetime visit that Lou will never forget. He truly enjoyed himself.
